A 27-year-old woman died early this morning when her car and a fuel tanker collided head-on in Taranaki, police say.
The crash happened on State Highway 3, north of Midhirst, at about 3am.
Police said the tanker driver was taken to Taranaki Hospital and treated for shock.
The road is expected to be blocked for several hours while the serious crash unit investigates and diversions are in place.
