Protest being organised for Clinton visit

A group that protested against the last US Secretary of State, is planning to disrupt Hillary Clinton's visit too.

Mrs Clinton, the US Secretary of State, is due in Auckland next Friday for three days of talks with Prime Minister John Key and other officials, as part of a tour of several Pacific countries.

During a visit of then-Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice in 2008, the Global Peace and Justice group burned an American flag outside Government House. Two protesters were arrested.

Spokesperson John Minto says they plan to get a crowd of about 200 to protest against US policies on Afghanistan and climate change, and make Mrs Clinton pay attention.

He says the intent is to rally as much support as possible via the internet to attract people from outside the group.
