More NZ flavour wanted on Anzac Day in Queensland

Some ANZAC Day events in Queensland could have more New Zealand flavour this year.

State Premier Anna Bligh is writing to all schools and councils to encourage them to sing God Defend New Zealand alongside Advance Australia Fair at their ANZAC ceremonies.

Four years ago, the Queensland ANZAC Day commemoration committee sent sheet music and a disc of the New Zealand national anthem to every school and local council.

The committee says it wants to reinforce that singing the anthem is a way of putting the "NZ" back into ANZAC.
