Hendrix Hauwai appeared in the North Shore District Court this morning for sentencing, after earlier admitting to aggravated wounding with intent to injure and assault with intent to rob.

Those charges relate to an incident outside a North Shore supermarket on September 23rd, when Lucy Knight sustained serious head injuries while trying to stop Hauwai from mugging an elderly woman.

At the last minute, his sentencing was put off until next year, partly because one of his earlier guilty pleas had not been recorded in the court system.

This afternoon, Hauwai also pleaded guilty to one charge of robbery by assault and another of assault with intent to injure, in relation to incidents on 17 and 18 September.

He is due to be sentenced on all charges on 9 February.
