One person is dead after a bus and a car collided on State Highway 3 north of Mokau in Taranaki.
The Fire Service says the accident happened about 12.30pm today.
The person killed was the sole occupant in the car, which crashed about three metres down a bank after colliding with the bus.
Police said 21 people were on the InterCity bus, but none of the passengers suffered serious injuries. They were transferred onto another service.
