The police are hunting for two prisoners who are on the run after escaping from separate hospitals.
Kenneth John Burns, 34, escaped from Wanganui Hospital ten days ago.
Last night Wipei Awatere, 29, managed to run off from Hutt Hospital, in Lower Hutt.
The Department of Corrections said Awatere was taken to hospital after he told officers he had swallowed razor blades.
It now believes he faked the incident.
Police said both men were still on the loose.
