The police in Canada say a New Zealand man has been arrested and charged with blackmail after trying to lure a Canadian teenager into performing sexual acts online.
An investigation was launched by the police in the city of London, Ontario, in May 2013 after a complaint from a 16-year-old girl.
Canadian police said the teenager began communicating with the man online and was convinced to share inappropriate images of herself.
The man then attempted to blackmail her into performing sexually explicit acts online, they said.
She refused to co-operate and contacted the local police in London.
They then located the man in New Zealand and notified the New Zealand police who conducted a search of the man's home in November this year and arrested him.
It was understood that there were two other alleged female victims in New Zealand.
New Zealand police have not commented on the case.
