The three American citizens killed when their car collided with a logging truck on State Highway One near Tokoroa on Tuesday have been named.
They were 53-year-old Warren Lee, 52-year-old Aesoon Lee and their 20-year-old daughter Julia Lee.
Mr and Mrs Lee lived in Hong Kong.
Julia Lee, who was driving the car, had been living in Massachusetts, but was due to start university in Auckland and her family had come to New Zealand to see her settle in.
Her 18-year-old brother, who also lives in Hong Kong, is in a critical but stable condition in Waikato Hospital.
