Two men have been arrested in connection with a rape reported in Whangarei in 2007.
The attack on an 18-year-old woman is alleged to have happened in the toilets of the Whangarei Information Centre in Tarewa Road.
Despite widespread publicity at the time, police were unable to trace the woman's attackers.
However, police say as a result of recent forensic inquiries, they have arrested two men who will face rape charges.
The pair, aged 20 and 21, will appear in the Whangarei District Court on Thursday.
