Operation Gemini was launched in November after Customs intercepted nearly three kilograms of the drug Alpha PVP coming into New Zealand from China.

Police searched several Wellington properties and seized assets including two houses, a Harley Davidson motorbike, and a jetski.

Police said Alpha PVP was a fairly new addition to the drug scene and it had a similar psychoactive effect to methamphetamine and ecstasy.

They said the three men and a woman who were arrested were aged between 24 and 26 and further charges were likely.
