Burton to complain about Darklands show

Convicted double murderer Graeme Burton is set to complain about his portrayal in a recent episode of Television New Zealand's Beyond the Darklands show.

The programme, featuring clinical psychologist Nigel Latta, analyses the lives of notorious New Zealand criminals.

Burton's lawyer, Peter Tomlinson, says his first step is to lodge a complaint soon with TVNZ, which he plans to do soon.

Mr Tomlinson says Burton has no objection to the parts of the programme that are true, but there is one aspect of the programme about which he has concerns.

Burton was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing Karl Kuchenbecker in 2007 while on parole from a previous murder conviction.

He was also found guilty of attempting to murder a fellow prison inmate in December 2008.
