A man has been killed and another man is in a serious condition in hospital following a car crash in Wellington.
Police say the crash happened about 3am on State Highway 1, north of Johnsonville, killing the 19-year-old.
Three other passengers suffered minor to moderate injuries.
Police say speed, road conditions and alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
They are appealing for sightings of a Red Hona Accord driving along State Highway 1 away from central Wellington, or for anyone who saw the crash, to contact police.
