A petition is being launched in an attempt to block the Government's plan to introduce social bonds.

The Government says better employment support for people with mental illness is the first aim of the scheme.

The first bonds will be issued as a way of funding employment services for people with mental-health conditions.

The Association of Psychotherapists has teamed up with the campaigning movement ActionStation to stop what it calls an experimental approach to mental-health funding.

The petition also called for more government funding for mental-health treatment and support.
