The Fire Service is investigating a fire which has damaged part of a Child, Youth and Family office in Levin.
Fire officers say they were called to the Kent and Little building at the corner of Chamberlain and Queen streets about 2am on Sunday to find most of the two-storey building well alight.
The fire has been extinguished. The foyer and stairwell of the building have been damaged.
Investigators are now trying to determine how the fire started.
Child, Youth and Family says it is thankful nobody was hurt in the fire.
The organisation says it will redeploy its Levin staff to ensure that the district continues to receive normal levels of support.
