Noor Ellis was today sentenced in a court in Denspasar, Bali, over the killing of her husband of 25 years, Robert Ellis.

She was found guilty of ordering her maid's boyfriend to slash his throat last year.

Mr Ellis was a New Zealander but had been based in Australia.

The pair's sons, who have disowned their mother, were in court for the verdict and sentencing.

They have argued for the prosecution to appeal the sentence, saying anything less than a 20-year jail sentence was inadequate.
