Police in Hamilton are looking for a man after a teenage girl complained she was harassed while she was walking home on Friday night.
The man began following the girl, aged 14, along Massey road, in the suburb of Dinsdale, at about 9pm.
Detective Sergeant Robbie Hermann says he took hold of the girl's hand and began talking to her.
He says she tried to escape, but the man continued to hold her hand, making sexually provocative and crude comments.
She eventually managed to escape and run home.
Police say the man is described as a Maori, aged in his 30s with rotten and broken teeth. He was wearing dark pants and a dark jacket or sweatshirt.
