Police have released the name of a man struck by a train and killed in Christchurch on Saturday.
He was Wayne Michael McKenzie, 23, a student originally from the West Coast.
He was hit at about 6pm on Saturday, on the railway tracks to the west of the Curletts Road rail overbridge.
The death has been referred to the coroner.
