Strong winds push trans-Tasman rower off course

A New Zealand rower attempting to cross the Tasman Sea is likely to land in the Far North because of strong winds pushing him off course.

Shaun Quincey was set to come ashore between New Plymouth and Auckland.

However, his support crew believes it is possible he could land as far north as Kaipara Harbour as a result of last week's tropical cyclone.

A member of his support crew, Michael Buck, predicts Quincey will land by early next week.
