A search is continuing for a Christchurch woman who disappeared from her home earlier this week, wearing only nightclothes.
Joan Catlow, 39, left the Rupert Place property in the suburb of Dallington early on Tuesday morning, barefoot and wearing only night attire.
Since then, neither family nor friends have heard from her. Police say they hold real concerns for her safety.
Detective Senior Sergeant David Harvey says numerous sightings of a woman similar in appearance to Ms Catlow, were reported around Hagley Park before 6am on Tuesday.
Currently 28 personnel, including forensic scientists, are working on the case.
The Avon River was searched on Wednesday. Now the search has moved to the Addington sale yards, the Botanic Gardens and Hagley Park.
