Six inmates have been charged in relation to attacks at Auckland Prison at Paremoremo earlier this month.

Four prisoners were seriously wounded. Two needed treatment in hospital after being stabbed.

North Shore police say two men, aged 38 and 20, are each facing three charges of injuring with intent.

Four other inmates, aged between 21 and 27, are to be jointly charged with injuring with intent after collectively assaulting another inmate.

A court date is yet to be set.
