Monday's papers: Two die of carbon monoxide poisoning in cabin, third man survives; slump in house values; close vote expected on merger between Silver Fern Farms and PGG Wrightson.

The New Zealand Herald leads with two men dying from carbon monoxide poisoning in a small cabin. But a third survived by breathing air through a crack in the door.

A New Zealand First auditor says he had concerns in May about whether a donation to the party should be declared. But Nick Koosof says he did not discuss the issue with party leader Winston Peters.

The Dominion Post also leads with the deaths of two men in Waikato after taking a charcoal barbecue inside their tiny cabin for warmth. Rescuer Ben Walker says the sound of a man scratching and crying for help to escape the poisonous gas will haunt him for the rest of his life.

MPs have been investigated three times over accusations they bullied their staff, but Parliamentary Services would not name them.

The Press says house values in Christchurch have slumped and are expected to fall further.

A report into accusations of corruption at Christchurch Men's Prison has been called a whitewash after a disclosure that three officers are under investigation for serious misconduct.

New Zealand has approved lifting a ban on India's nuclear trading after it says India dealt with its most serious concerns.

A vote to be taken on Monday on whether Silver Fern Farms and PGG Wrightson will merge, is expected to be close.
