A Wanganui street is cordoned off - it's understood that a person is dead after a baseball bat attack.

However, neighbours say a tent is erected outside a house and there are several police cars in the street.
A person working nearby says he saw an ambulance and a police car in Cross Street just before 10pm on Tuesday.
Another woman says that around the street was blocked off at around 3am on Wednesday.
A large number of police were present and she heard that one person had died and another had been injured in a baseball bat attack.
