An 18-month-old is in a critical condition after being rescued from the water near Great Barrier Island tonight.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 8pm, off Rangiahua Island.
A St John Spokesperson said an 18-month-old boy had been airlifted to Starship Hospital in a critical condition.
A three-year-old girl, also airlifted to hospital, was in a moderate condition.
