Toyota's market share of new car purchases dipped in February.
Recent accelerator pedal problems overseas have been blamed for more than 50 deaths and caused the recall of eight million Toyota vehicles worldwide.
Last year, Toyota held a 21% market share of all vehicle sales in New Zealand, but had only a 17% share in February.
However, the Motor Trade Association says it still leads in both overall vehicle sales and car sales.
