Z Energy petrol stations are floating the idea of banning Wicked Campers vehicles from their forecourts.

The idea follows a backlash from the public, councils and government ministers including Paula Bennett, who have complained many of the slogans on the vehicles are offensive and said they should be banned from the roads.

Z Energy chief executive Mike Bennetts said the company took to social media to get feedback.
"Z's always committed to listening to what is on the minds of our customers, and the neighbourhoods we serve," he said.
"We thought the best thing to do was to start a dialogue and get people to let us know what they think about that, and that will inform whatever decision we ultimately make."
Mr Bennetts said there could be an exception to the rule in remote areas, where drivers would have no other options.
He said forecourt workers would be able to make their own call on whether to serve people driving Wicked Campers, but admitted the rule could be difficult to enforce and additional training would be required.
