Police advise caution on a section of State Highway 2 between Opotiki and Gisborne because of a slip.
The road was closed on Tuesday afternoon and was re-opened early on Wednesday after it was cleared.
But police say motorists should reduce speed and drive carefully in the immediate slip area, between the townships of Wairata and Matawai.
