6:25 pm on 13 May 2016

A man wanted over fraud worth $250,000 arrived back in the country today from Australia.

Paul James Bennett was taken into custody on his arrival and is due in the Christchurch District Court tomorrow on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Mike Jacomb from the company HeliPower put up a $50,000 reward for information leading to Mr Bennett's arrest.

Mr Bennett used to work for him and Mr Jacomb accused police of being too slow to take action over the fraud allegations.

Mr Bennett and his partner, Simone Wright, are alleged to have stolen a yacht in the Bay of Islands a year ago and sailed it to Sydney.

They were arrested on their arrival there and charged with receiving stolen goods.
