Police are seeking witnesses to a serious assault in Hamilton yesterday afternoon.
A 27-year old woman was attacked in her vehicle while parked on Tramway Road in the suburb of Enderley about 12.30pm, police said.
The woman had pulled her car over and was then approached by a man brandishing a large metal hammer, which he used to assault her.
She received minor injuries before escaping from the vehicle and running off.
The offender is described as Māori, in his early 20s, in a hooded camouflage sweatshirt and black skinny jeans.
