Man on the run for week faces court

A Taranaki man described by police as "armed and dangerous" will appear in court today after handing himself in.

James Anderson Thomson was arrested at the Waitara police station yesterday after being on the run for a week.

Previously wanted for firearms and weapons charges, he was now facing new charges for skipping bail and robbery.

Mr Thomson's associate Phillip Free Knuckey was still on the run, wanted on domestic violence charges including threatening to kill, assault with a weapon and possession of an offensive weapon.
