Three candidates from National-aligned local tickets will chase the two seats on the central Albert-Eden-Roskill ward, with a challenge also from left-leaning candidates.

Auckland's traditional Communities & Residents (C&R) ticket has confirmed it will stand both Christine Fletcher and Benjamin Lee, despite the recently-formed Auckland Future group already nominating a candidate, Rob Harris.

Auckland Future formed with National Party support for this election but failed to build bridges with the long-established C&R ticket.

The new group was also challenging sitting centre-right councillor George Wood on the North Shore.
