More than a thousand homes are without power in Auckland.
The central city and Freeman's Bay are most affected and some homes in Westmere, Point Chevalier and Botany are also without power.
Vector Energy anticipated the outage would be fixed between 11pm and midnight tonight but it was still determining the cause.
