Tokoroa police say the death of a man in the town on Wednesday morning is now not being treated as suspicious.
Kupa Tearoa, who was 25, was found dead at his home by ambulance officers and initial reports said he had been stabbed.
The police say a scene examination and the result of a post-mortem mean they are no longer treating the death as suspicious.
They say the matter will be referred to the Bay of Plenty Coroner and no comment will be made over the circumstances of the death.
