Police were called about 5pm to the KFC on Massey Rd in Mangere East, where there were reports of about 100 people involved in the brawl.

A spokesperson said officers did not know how or why the incident started but they were hoping to get more details from the restaurant's surveillance footage.

They believed one person might have been injured.

Two adults and two teenagers have been arrested.

Students from Southern Cross Campus were reportedly involved in the fight.

The school's principal, Robin Staples, said the incident occurred outside of school hours and he didn't know anything about it.

He would be investigating first thing tomorrow and would work with police, he said.

There was no build-up to the fight, he said.
