A Northland manhunt for a group who police say pointed a gun out of a car at another vehicle has ended.
Police said the incident occurred at Broadwood, north of Kaikohe, shortly after midday.
A member of the public saw the gun before the car was driven away. It was later found abandoned by three men who fled into farmland, the police said.
Four men and a woman have since been arrested and ammunition has been recovered.
The incident was unrelated to searches in the area for Joshua Kite and Mark Fletcher.
