One person is injured after a suspected shooting in Palmerston North.
Police were called to an incident about 2pm today and said there was a fight between groups of men.
Armed police were at the scene in the central suburb of Awapuni.
One man was taken to Palmerston North Hospital in a moderate condition with a chest injury.
He has since been discharged and there were no reports of other injuries.
Police road blocks were in place at Sheffield and College Street, and on College Street between Burfield Place and Botanical Road, but have since been removed.

Separate fight
Police were also called to a separate brawl in The Square in the central city about the same time.
At this stage, they did not believe the incidents were linked.
Police could not say how many people were involved in either incident.
