South Otago police are searching for a flat-bed truck after a fence post it was carrying smashed the windscreen of a passing vehicle.
The wooden post flew off the truck and went through the vehicle's windscreen, just inches away from the driver, on Tuesday morning last week.
It came loose from a vehicle going north on State Highway One between Balclutha and Milton at about 8.45am.
Police said the truck they were searching for was going south, and was a white truck with a wooden flat deck.
