Emergency services have been stood down at Whenuapai Airbase in Auckland this morning after an incident involving a plane.
The Defence Force said the emergency alert involved an aircraft on the ground.
It said an RNZAF P3-K2 aircraft was taxiing when the crew noticed electrical arcing in the windshield and associated fumes.
The crew followed standard procedures, which include notifying air traffic control, shutting down the aircraft and evacuating.
