A man lost on Mt Stanley in the Marlborough Sounds has been brought out of the bush by rescue volunteers.

He was cold and wet but uninjured.
Rescue teams were sent to the area after the Christchurch man rang police yesterday afternoon.
He told them he had become disoriented in low cloud that enveloped the area where he was tramping.
Searchers found the man at about 2am and he was able to walk out once he regained his strength.
Police said the rescue volunteers did a great job in cold and wet conditions.
