Northland scrub fire under control

Department of Conservation crews are dampening hotspots at the scene of a large scrub fire in Northland.

Three helicopters and four fire appliances spent the night battling the 57-hectare blaze at Ngawha Springs, near Kaikohe.

The Fire Service says the blaze is now under control and DoC is monitoring the situation.

The cause of the fire is not known.
