Southland girl dies from motorcycle crash injuries

An 11-year-old Southland girl who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident earlier this month has died in Starship Hospital.

Jessica Rose Robson died on Saturday, after a crash at Thompsons Crossing, north of Invercargill on 10 September.

The girl was riding a 50cc motorcycle out of a paddock when she collided with a car. She was taken to Invercargill Hospital with serious head and leg injuries, before being transferred to Starship in Auckland.

Police said the investigation into the crash was still ongoing.
