The police are investigating how a man was shot in Rotorua last night.

The man suffered a gunshot wound and police believed his injury was related to reports of gunshots heard in Paradise Valley Road just before 11pm.
Anyone who noticed suspicious activity in that area last night should contact the police, they said.
The man was taken to Rotorua Hospital but the injury was not life-threatening.
