A 31-year-old man has been remanded in custody, accused of violently assaulting a woman in Auckland.
Police said the woman was walking to work in Mt Albert just after 5am yesterday when a man attacked her and threatened her with a knife.
They said it was a traumatic experience for the woman.
Dean Brooks King appeared in the Auckland District Court this afternoon facing six charges in relation to the attack, including abduction, assault with a weapon, sexual violation and robbery.
He entered no plea and was remanded to reappear next month.
