Name suppression has been lifted on a rugby player accused of sexual assault.
Mid-Canterbury player Kolinio Tamanitoakula, 24, was arrested on 2 October following an incident in Gisborne.
The mid-Canterbury side had played a match in Ruatoria against East Coast the day before.
Mr Tamanitoakula was charged with assault with intent to commit rape.
He appeared in the Gisborne District Court this morning for a sentencing indication and the court lifted name suppression.
Mr Tamanitoakula entered no plea and will reappear on 4 February.
