Man faces trial over young daughter's death

A man accused of the manslaughter of his two year-old daughter will go to trial.

Amokura Daniels-Sanft died at the family home in Mangere in June, after being shot in the head with a shotgun.

Her father Gustav Otto Sanft, 26, appeared at the High Court in Auckland this morning.

Justice Moore set the trial date for May next year.

Mr Sanft is also accused of unlawfully possessing a pistol and supplying cannabis.
