Police say information about a wheelie bin could be vital in the Carmen Thomas homicide investigation.

The Auckland mother has not been seen since the end of June and police have confirmed they believe she has been killed.

Police say a 240-litre recycling wheelie bin with a blue lid is missing from Ms Thomas's home in Remuera, although they do not know when it was taken.

Police are still looking for sightings of Ms Thomas's car, which was abandoned in Hamilton, and still want to locate items missing from her home or the vehicle.

They include a turquoise handbag, her car keys and her wallet.

Police are reiterating that officers are firmly committed to ing her and bringing whoever is responsible for her death to account.
