A rescue helicopter has collected an injured woman from a hut in the Nelson Lakes National Park.

The Rescue Coordination Centre said the helicopter was sent after an emergency rescue beacon belonging to two women was activated this morning.
Police said the rescue helicopter picked up a woman with an injured ankle and took her to hospital.
They said the beacon was set off just before 9am.
It was activated near the Angelus hut between Lake Rotoiti and Lake Rotoroa.
