Two young people who died in a collision in Southland on Friday have been named.
They are 18-year-old Shanae Bruce and her passenger, 14-year-old Jaykob Yaxley.
The pair died when their Honda hatchback hit another car on Lorne-Dacre Rd in Rakahouka on Friday afternoon.
Two other people were injured.
The police say the crash was a tragic event so close to Christmas.
They say the cause of the crash is still to be determined.
