Nelson police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a shop in Stoke last night.
They said a man entered the Night and Day dairy at 10pm and demanded money from the sole female employee.
He was armed with a short, machete-style knife and had a green bandana covering his face, police said.
An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.
The shop worker was shaken and upset after the incident, but unharmed.
The offender was last seen riding a bicycle through Strawbridge Square then north along Neale Avenue.
