A 24-year-old man has been arrested after a knifepoint robbery at a Wellington petrol station.
A knife was brandished and money demanded at the Z petrol station in the suburb of Tawa shortly after 8pm yesterday, police said
Detectives said the robber fled the scene with a small amount of cash and cigarettes.
A man was found at a house in Porirua about midnight, and arrested.
He was charged with aggravated robbery and will appear in the Porirua District Court this morning.
