Student flats are being targeted in a spate of burglaries in West Christchurch, police say.
Police said the areas of Upper Riccarton and Sockburn had been hit, with laptops and computers targeted.
They're reminding returning students that high value items should be kept out of sight and password protected, and that properties are secure.
Police also want people to report any suspicious activity.
Landlords are also being encouraged to get quality locks and to ensure that locks are changed when new tenants move in.
